Excellent, goes into all aspects of manual handling in much more detail than I could ever have done. Again I used it as part of our annual staff health & safety training afternoon. Will certainly be looking at purchasing more training videos, particularly the one on manual handling of patients which would be ideal for our nurses.

Your comments: We wanted to ensure that new members of staff that joined us understood the importance of correct manual handling. By showing them this DVD and then discussing the details of what had been learnt, we were able to ensure that all staff involved in carrying or lifting, understood how it should be done correctly.

The benefit of purchasing a DVD rather than arranging for staff to attend a training course is that the DVD is available for training any new staff and can be added to part of the induction process at no extra cost. I found the Manual Handling Safety Essentials from The Health & Safety Group delivers exactly what is needed to give staff a basic understanding of the best way to lift items in an office environment. It was useful to be able to use the DVD in conjunction with booklets so that participants had something to refer to afterwards and were able to complete a questionnaire to ensure they had understood the training. I would score it 4/5.

We found the Manual Handling Essentials DVD very informative it covered all aspects of manual handling operations in a simple yet innovative format. When surveyed our staff said the DVD "was to the point and didnt drown them in boring Health and safety jargon". The DVD enabled us to fullfill our legaslative requirements with regards to Manual handling Training in a very cost effective/time effective way. We would rate the DVD as 5 out of 5.

Was very straightforward and re-enforced what we do on an everyday basis" "Diane Youdale explain about the spine and how manual handling impacts on it very clearly" "Was clear and concise" As the advert says - it does what it says on the tin!!!

The DVD I purchased from you has been very useful. I didn’t want to spend hours going through the whole process with all of our staff, so by setting up the DVD and letting them watch it allowed me to carry on with other work. It was very clear and precise, and a gladiator doing backflips across the screen really made them all sit up immediately!! So all smiles when staff left the room on completion and I didn’t have to wake anyone up after either. So in all, a well thought out DVD which I would recommend.

A very well presented DVD with all the necessary elements to comply with training recommendations. I used this DVD to start the training session followed by my own bespoke power-point presentation. It served well to reinforce the major factors and key points that need to be expressed during training and found it very useful as a reference tool during my presentation. I would recommend this DVD – good value for money!

This DVD is an excellent training resource. It provides a clear and concise discussion of why we need to be aware of manual handling techniques and how to avoid the injuries associated with lifting loads. It will complement our in house training and brings many of the points home visually.

I rate this DVD with a 5, unlike a lot of DVD's which focus on the well known presenter this one gave detailed yet easy to understand information and demonstrations on the topic. I used this to supplement a Manual Handling training course.

This manual handling dvd was very effective and not overly complicated. I believe at 30 minutes, it maintains the audience interest, while still conveying the importance of manual handling training.

The dvd we purchased was very useful even though we are only an office and not an industrial environment. It was short and to the point with out too much padding so staff didn’t feel they were wasting their time.

We use the dvd to make our staff aware of the importance of Manual Handling in Health and Safety practices. Our staff find the dvd most informative and we have drawn up a small question and answer session to ensure it is fully understood. The dvd has helped us ensure that all staff are trained at the same level and that we have consistency in training.

Good length, not so long that they lost interest, but covered all the important aspects of manual handling ( and without being too patronising which helps!)

I have used the DVD and have found it very useful as a starting point for the course, I find training DVD's an important part of a course, my only criticism is the difficulty in finding DVD's related to our business which is contract catering, many of them are more general. The quality and level is very good

Lorraine Pope, 02nd February 2010

It was good to watch a DVD specific to the Print & Mail Operations of our business. Staff were impressed as it represented their usual daily activities and not just information and guidance on how to lift boxes. It was also good to see an updated version as many of our previous Videos/DVD's were rather outdated.

Eleanor Hurd, 02nd February 2010

Covered the essential manual handling training required for an office based business rather than incurring a lot of expense in sending team members on training courses. Information in the DVD was presented very clearly and it was easy to select just the sections that were relevant to the natures of the business. Would recommend this to other businesses where manual handling is a minor part of work activities.

I was surprised how good this manual handling DVD was in its contents and detail but also the easy way the presenter puts the message over “the common senses approach” It covers all areas of manual handling in 20 minutes which is just about right for keeping trainees attention. I would recommend the manual handling DVD for viewing and its also excellent value.
